Two American cult brands, Evil and Santa Cruz, face each other in our trail bike duel. Can the Following MB with 29-inch tyres hold its own against the 5010 from Santa Cruz on 27.5 wheels?

7900 to 8299 euros. In this high-end duel, the focus is not on the money, but rather on the money. The cult status that both brands enjoy triggers "want-to-have" reflexes, but the price is a bitter blow to the savings account. And yet there would have been an even more expensive model of the Santa Cruz. With exactly the same suspension travel of 130 millimetres at the fork and rear, the two duelists fit perfectly into the trail bike category. In the case of the Evil on a 29-inch base with the option of also being able to ride 27.5+ wheels; in the Santa Cruz, the smaller 27.5s roll, which fit into the frame in widths of up to 2.6 inches.

You can find out who came out on top in this high-end duel in the PDF available in the download area below (including geometry data, lab results and BIKE verdict).
