Mountain bikers love Cube. In the German-speaking bike cosmos, there is hardly a buzzword that is more in demand than Cube. The Bavarians are known for lightweight, attractively priced complete bikes from specialist dealers. To ensure that the good image continues in the next model year, Cube is focusing on the complete overhaul of two all-time favourites. The Cube Stereo One22 is intended to be a trail bike for all occasions and, thanks to its slim carbon frame, is even more stylish and versatile than the well-known aluminium model. The Cube Reaction C:62 hardtail is also coming for 2025 with a weight-reduced carbon frame and the latest development findings from the Crosscountry World Cup. It comes with its trail brother, the Cube Reaction TM, whose aluminium frame had collected some dust in recent years and has now been redeveloped from the ground up. The first photos of the new Cube bikes are fresh from the in-house exhibition.
The Cube Reaction is a true classic among hardtails for price-conscious mountain bikers. With the most affordable aluminium models, bikers will find a low-threshold entry into the world of off-road sports. The Reaction models with C:62 carbon frames are even sportier. Cube is giving this a major makeover for 2025. The new hardtail chassis was developed from scratch to meet the growing demands for versatile cross-country bikes with a rigid rear end. The process not only incorporated the expertise of the Elite model, the XC spearhead in the Bavarian line-up, but also the knowledge gained from working with the company's own World Cup team.
Thanks to integrated cable routing through the headset and an integrated seat clamp on the back of the seat tube, the new carbon frame of the Cube Reaction is designed to be both aesthetic and lightweight. Compared to the high-end Phenix hardtail model, the Reaction is said to have a more balanced reach-stack ratio for a more comfortable riding position. The new hardtail made of lightweight carbon fibre is not only aimed at racers on the hunt for the last second, but also at lovers of classic mountain bike tours. Four equipment variants are planned for 1499, 1999, 2499 and 2999 euros. The weight of the new Cube Reaction C:62 should be between 9.9 and 11.8 kilos, depending on the model.
When it comes to the one bike for everything and the price-performance ratio should also be right, the concept of trail hardtails is very popular with many bikers. Cube is well aware of this and has put a lot of development work into the new aluminium frame of the Reaction TM. Although the hardtail with 140 millimetres of suspension travel shares its name with its classic cross-country siblings, the new Cube Reaction TM is an independent platform with a robust aluminium frame.
On the new Cube Reaction TM 2025, a slack steering angle of 65 degrees promises a very smooth ride, even when things get faster and faster on the trail. Together with the extra travel of the suspension fork, the trail hardtail should be as powerful as possible for a bike without rear suspension. Two models for 1099 and 1499 euros respectively are to be launched on the market (e.g. available here). The new Cube Reaction TM hardtail is also available in frame size XS so that short bikers and youngsters can also enjoy the new Cube Reaction TM. The new Cube hardtail for trail use weighs between 14.3 and 15.5kg.
Attentive Cube fans were able to catch a teaser of the new Stereo One22 last year. With the start of sales the German manufacturer However, they took their time. According to their own statement, they wanted to hit the bull's eye with the trail bike and make absolutely sure that the carbon frame was as light and stable as possible. Now Cube is finally letting the cat out of the bag and releasing the Stereo One22 C:62 to the market. Final touches have been added to the discreet carbon frame and not only a Sram UDH derailleur hanger for transmission drivetrains, but also a threaded BSA bottom bracket and a mount for a chain guide have been integrated.
In line with ongoing trends, the Cube Stereo One22 C:62 will be longer and flatter for 2025. Visually, the trail bike resembles now significantly stronger than its big brothers in the line-up with more suspension travel. In the flat setting, the steering angle measures 65.4 degrees. This can be adjusted to 66 degrees using an angled headset. A steering stop limiter is also on board. The One22 does not have a storage compartment integrated into the carbon frame. Instead, there is a tool mount under the top tube. Three equipment variants are available for 2999, 3799 and 5999. The weights of the complete bikes are between 11.8 and 13.4 kilos. BIKE readers can look forward to the test report on the top model shortly.
