Cosy tourer: Flyer Uproc 4 6.30 FS in a practical test
The Flyer Uproc 4 6.30 FS shows how differently manufacturers interpret the trail bike category.

The coal-black bike has a relatively steep steering angle, cross-country tyres and an outdated square crank. The stark contrast: the extremely powerful Panasonic motor, which fires out its power in a somewhat uncultivated manner. The rear suspension works well, but unfortunately the tyres have little traction and the front wheel rises early on ramps. Despite the very good brakes, the Flyer's too steep steering angle makes it seem like something from another world compared to a Ghost or Cube. The tyres have a very low limit range and slip away abruptly. Even the Fox 34 with a simple damping cartridge can't hold a candle to the 36 or the Rockshox Yari and is either too soft or too hard in compression. The result: a less harmonious ride feel. Very good reach thanks to the large battery, which scores points.

Conclusion: The Uproc is more of a cosy tourer than a sporty trail bike. The weaknesses in terms of equipment and geometry come at the expense of riding enjoyment.
