Bulls shows combination of 27.5+ and 29 inch on the hardtail
Bulls is launching a new hardtail philosophy in 2017: 27.5 plus on the rear wheel and 29 inches on the front wheel. Four models are set to conquer the trails with this concept.

Mixing different wheel sizes on one bike is nothing new. Bulls is now including plus sizes in the mix and is specifically gearing its concept towards hardtails: On the unsprung rear wheel, a voluminous 27.5-plus tyre provides traction and comfort, while a 29-inch front wheel promises good rollover characteristics. The different grip levels of the tyres are compensated for by a significantly more aggressive front tyre, which should prevent understeer.

Three Copperhead models (Max, Max S and Max RS) ride with the combination philosophy. The tyres come from Schwalbe: a 27.5x2.6-inch Rocket Ron on the rear wheel and a 29x2.35 Nobby Nic on the front. The bikes are priced between 1299 and 1699 euros and weigh between 12.4 and 13.3 kilos. Rock Shox Recon and Reba forks offer 100 millimetres of suspension travel.

In addition, the Bulls Duro comes as a real trail hardtail with a massive Fox 34 (140 millimetres), FSA cockpit, complete XT equipment (1x11) and Schwalbe Nobby Nic tyres (27.5x2.6 inches) on the rear wheel, as well as Schwalbe Fat Albert (29x2.35 inches) on the front wheel. The weight is said to be 12.7 kilos and the price 2799 euros. A steering angle of 67.5 degrees and 410 millimetre chainstays promise trail fun.

The Plus tyres are not a must: the bikes come with Boost dimensions and are also compatible with normal 29-inch or 27.5-Plus wheelsets at the front and rear.
