With the iLynx+ NX series, the Spanish manufacturer BH Bikes is presenting a new generation of its trail and enduro e-bikes. The models are designed as trail and enduro variants and, according to BH Bikes, are intended to offer an optimum balance of efficiency and control. The centrepiece is the split pivot suspension system, which decouples the drive, brakes and suspension from each other. This is intended to achieve high pedalling efficiency combined with sensitive response behaviour. BH Bikes states that the system is 100 per cent anti-squat, which should minimise bobbing when pedalling. In addition, the suspension function remains unaffected when braking.
The fifth-generation Bosch Performance Line CX motor is used as the drive. With a maximum torque of 85 Newton metres and support of up to 340 percent, it is one of the most powerful e-bike motors on the market. The compact drive weighs just 2.9 kilograms. Power is supplied by an 800 watt-hour battery that is fully integrated into the frame. This can be removed for charging or charged directly on the bike via a connection on the main bearing. BH Bikes promises a range of up to 4,600 metres in altitude in economical Eco mode.
The iLynx+ NX models are available in carbon and aluminium versions. The carbon frames use Hollow Core Internal Moulding technology, which, according to BH Bikes, enables optimum fibre alignment and low weight. Special ballistic carbon fibres are used for increased impact resistance. The aluminium frames are made of triple-butted material for a balanced ratio of stiffness and weight. All models have internal cable routing and a seat clamp integrated into the top tube.
BH Bikes offers the iLynx+ NX series in various equipment variants. The top models iLynx+ NX Enduro Carbon 9.8 and iLynx+ NX Trail Carbon 8.8 rely on high-quality components such as Fox Factory suspension elements, Shimano XT Di2 gears and DT Swiss wheels. Performance suspension elements and mechanical Shimano XT gears are used in the mid-range. The entry-level models with aluminium frames are equipped with Rockshox or SR Suntour suspension elements and Shimano Deore drivetrains.
The geometry of the iLynx+ NX models is based on modern trail bike concepts. With a steering angle of 66 degrees (Trail) or 64 degrees (Enduro), a seat angle of 78 or 76 degrees and short 440 millimetre chainstays, the bikes should be easy to ride both uphill and downhill. The enduro versions have 160 millimetres of rear wheel travel, while the trail models are designed with 140 millimetres. All frames offer space for tyres up to 29 x 2.4 inches.
BH uses the Bosch Kiox 400C display in combination with a mini remote on the handlebars to control the drive system. The display is discreetly integrated into the frame and is positioned on the top tube to provide optimum protection against impacts and falls. The display can be customised to the rider's needs. The internal cable routing ensures a tidy look. The seatpost clamp is integrated into the top tube. To prevent damage to the down tube, the BlockLock system from Acros is used, which limits the steering angle to 120 degrees.
The new BH iLynx+ NX models are now available from specialist retailers. The recommended retail prices range from €4,799.90 for the entry-level model iLynx+ NX Trail 7.9 to €9,499.90 for the top-of-the-range model iLynx+ NX Enduro Carbon 9.8. All models are available in frame sizes S, M, L and XL.
