There is nothing more important than investing in your children's future. Savings accounts, building society savings contracts or education insurance policies are usually recommended as investments. We have an alternative: the Rocky Mountain Reaper. You have to shell out 2600 euros for the 26-inch bike, and your offspring can look forward to a promising future as mountain bikers. 130 millimetres of suspension travel at the rear, 120 at the front, 1x11 gears and smooth-running Shimano disc brakes - enthusiasm guaranteed. The Reaper was developed as a trail bike. Objective: Fun off-road. Area of use: touring, trails and bike park.
The rear triangle was given a high gear ratio so that the suspension works smoothly even with a low body weight. Sram's 1x11 drivetrain is a logical choice - experience has shown that children rarely use the front derailleur because of the high leverage forces. The geometry of the Reaper can be adjusted via the Ride 9 system, allowing it to be adapted to the range of use and body size. And the Reaper is more or less a long-term system - it works with 24-inch and 26-inch wheels.
The more affordable 24-inch version, the Reaper 24, rolls over the shop threshold with cheaper Rock Shox suspension, 1x10 gears from Shimano and Maxxis clincher tyres. Rocky Mountain recommends the Reaper with 24-inch wheels from a stride length of 63 cm, i.e. from a height of around 135 cm or eight years.
