Namibia, home to wild animals. Endless, sun-kissed expanses, populated by hordes of two- and four-legged exotic animals: Elephants, giraffes, ostriches, the whole zoological assortment. It was precisely this aspect that gave us the idea of a mountain bike safari through Africa - me, my girlfriend Yvonne and Oliver Soulas, a good friend and professional photographer. We wanted to see animals, as many as possible, as wild as possible, preferably within the focal length of the photo. But where? Africa is big. A look at the continent overshadowed by smouldering trouble spots quickly narrowed down the choice of attractive mountain bike areas. Namibia was perfect. The country in the south-west is considered a safe holiday destination, is politically stable and is known for its abundance of wildlife.
