What do three packs of spaghetti, a lightweight cross-country fork or two enduro tyres have in common? They all weigh around 1.5 kilograms each. The Danish manufacturer shows that this weight limit is also sufficient for camping Nordisk. A tent, a sleeping mat and a sleeping bag: normally items of luggage that together easily fill a rucksack and weigh heavily on your back and shoulders on long tours. Not so with Nordisk: all three items together only weigh the same as the aforementioned three packs of spaghetti.
The sleeping bag and sleeping pad in particular were designed as a system solution to avoid unnecessary weight. For example, some insulating material has been saved on the underside of the sleeping bag so that the sleeping bag remains smaller and lighter. In return, the lack of insulation is provided by the sleeping pad, which is adapted to the human contours and is more heavily padded in the areas that really bear weight during sleep - i.e. hips, head and shoulders. Thermarest also has such a super-lightweight system consisting of a sleeping pad and sleeping bag in its programme.
Classic lightweight construction measures were used for the tent: carbon poles, titanium pegs and the latest functional material - called 10D - for the tent panels. The entire tent weighs just 770 grams, while the sleeping bag and sleeping mat weigh 340 and 350 grams respectively in size L. The tent canvas has a water column of 2000 mm, the tent floor has a water column of 8000 mm. The wind density of the tent is 25 m/s. The sleeping bag is rated at 14/10/-2 degrees (Comfort, Limit, Extreme). These are values that should perhaps not be taken on expeditions to the Himalayas or the Arctic, but are sufficient for alpine tours in spring, summer and autumn and also offer protection from normal-sized storms.
