The Postbus driver takes you to the trail entrance, the wooden walkway starts where it's fun and only ends in the chill-out area - you're in Flims Laax.

There's not much room to turn round up here. Hopefully the post office driver knows what he's doing, otherwise he'll reach the valley with his bus well before us. Even on the way up to the high plateau of Alp Nagens, the driver's knowledge of the area was in doubt at times. Initially paved, a narrow ribbon of gravel soon wound its way upwards through an increasingly wild and lonely mountain landscape. Can that still be true? It's always crazy what destinations are on the route network of the Postbuses here in Switzerland. After all, there is no village or other logical destination up here. A godforsaken crossroads in the middle of a high alpine steppe. A cable car mountain station in summer hibernation at the very back within sight. A post with a good dozen signposts in all directions. The end of the line. For us, the beginning, the start of exploring the trail area around the Graubünden villages of Flims, Laax and Falera.
