10 kilometres of singletrack through a breathtaking mountain world with everything that goes with it: Alpine peaks, rocky landscapes, mountain meadows, suspension bridges, tricky gravel passages and plenty of flow. But beware: this is not a tour that you can quickly complete in half an hour. You should take at least half a day, be prepared to climb 1400 metres in altitude and shoulder the bike from time to time. The route leads up to the Furcletta Pass via forest roads and later trails. The view into the Welschtobel valley is world class. This is where the descent begins.
The narrow trail undulates playfully along the slope. Alpine terrain. Nature. Solitude. Our tip: make sure you stop every now and then to enjoy the scenery. We cruise through the Welschtobel valley towards Arosa, crossing a mountain stream over a suspension bridge adorned with prayer flags like in Tibet. Always in view: the mighty mountains. The trail curves in front of your tyres, as wide as a towel and seemingly endless. It only becomes technically challenging shortly after the Ramoz hut. After 10 kilometres of singletrack, we arrive at the bottom of the valley and have to conquer another 200 metre ascent before taking the Hörnli Express and reaching the ridge of the same name. We then travel to the Urdenfürggli at 2546 metres. The crowning glory is a bike park descent. We choose a combination of "Shoreline" and "Primeline". Important: For the Furcletta trail, you need full touring equipment (water, snacks, inner tubes, warm clothes), because it's freezing cold up on the Culmet Pass even in summer and the weather often changes rapidly. Important: get a trail map.
