MTB adventure on Mount Etna
Etna, Stromboli, Lipari - Sicily's volcanoes at the southern tip of Italy are literally hot for mountain bikers. Find out just how hot in the travel report in BIKE 5/2019. Watch the video here.

Mountain biking on the flanks of the active volcanoes Stromboli, Vulcano and the 3323 metre high Etna is not allowed on your own, as you always need a guide to ride on the volcanoes in Sicily above a certain height - which can change at any time depending on the volcanic activity. If you are caught without a guide, you will be fined 500 euros. The video shows the tour organised by tour operator TrailXperiencewho, together with local volcano guide Peppe "Kona" Barbagallo, is offering a nine-day Sicily cruise on a stylish wooden boat to the Aeolian islands of Vulcano, Stromboli, Salina and Lipari in 2019, followed by a crossing of Mount Etna.

The travel report on the volcano tour in Sicily can be found in BIKE 5/2019 - in stores from 2 April.

Gitta Beimfohr joined the BIKE travel resort during her tourism studies when the Strada delle 52 Gallerie on the Pasubio was closed to mountain bikers. Since Gitta crossed the Alps twice at racing speed, she has favoured multi-day tours - by MTB in the Alps or by gravel bike through the German low mountain ranges.
