Lake Garda: Valle del Diaol freeride route
Rob J not only likes Italian ice, the Valle del Diaol freeride tour also attracts the freerider to the lake time and again.

Tour Info 15 km, 895 m elevation gain, 3:00 h

Level of difficulty ***** (max. 5 stars)

Follow the Altissimo road uphill for almost 1000 metres until a gravel path branches off to the left shortly after Malga Casina in the direction of Valle del Diaol. Follow it for about 400 metres with a short climb in the opposite direction, then the signposted freeride route starts on the left. Although quite rough at first, the path soon eases off and you can enjoy a marvellous ride through hollow tubs and bends. However, in the middle of the run, rocky and stone passages - also with steps - appear again and again. After around five kilometres, you finally reach Nago. If you want, you can now take in the Marmitte dei Giganti!

Afterwards Okay, they're not the fastest or the friendliest, but the Villa Aranci beer garden is always full. The pizza is simply the best.

Back then, a cow's skull marked the trail entrance, which initially earned the trail the name "The Scull". The descent is now officially signposted as a freeride route and is great fun from top to bottom. Lots of forest floor, but often also blocked.Photo: Ronny Kiaulehn Rob J Heran, Freeride Team Canyon: Locals discovered this trail descent above Nago in 2008.
