Italy: Lago d'Iseo
Is there no alternative to Lake Garda? We tested six lakes in the Alps for their suitability for touring. Rating: particularly promising! In the first part of the lake series: Lago d'Iseo.

The church for which my donation is intended is called Santuario della Ceriola. It is enthroned on the summit of Monte Isola, an island in the middle of Lake Iseo. The fourth largest lake in Italy leads a shadowy existence - because of its famous neighbours Lake Garda and Lake Como. However, Lake Iseo really has nothing to hide: North of Brescia, it spreads its clear waters in the foothills of the Lombardy Alps. The mountains that form its shores rise up to 1,948 metres into the sky with Monte Guglielmo. Roads, paths and trails zigzag up to the summit regions, offering great views and are so secluded that bikers can spend weeks here on a discovery tour. There are also far fewer hotels and restaurants here than at its famous rivals. And: they don't speak German.

You can find these tours in the PDF download:
1st Monte Isola (9 km | 470 hm)
2nd Monte Guglielmo (42 km | 1900 m elevation gain)
3rd Croce Marino (35 km | 1200 metres altitude)
