This gem, which was created in the 16th century for carp farming, lies in a pine forest and was discovered at the beginning of the 20th century as a summer holiday destination for Bolzano's entrepreneurs. Today, locals and tourists alike refresh themselves here and enjoy the unspoilt nature of the lake, whose water quality and beauty have been recognised several times by Italy's largest environmental protection organisation.
