After two hours at the latest, the guilty conscience strikes. You've just been looking forward to being the first at the lake. Car park, towel right by the water, the sun is shining - everything is wonderful. But then: boredom.
Envious eyes follow the bikers cruising along the riverside path. They do it right: enjoy the dewy mountain air in the morning with the first rays of sunshine and then go for a swim. With panoramic images in your head and a slight pull in your legs, you can really enjoy a day at the lake.
But there are even more advantages to going swimming by bike, because a mountain biker can get everywhere: past the crowded sunbathing lawns near the car park to the most beautiful and secluded swimming spots on the lake. Those who don't shy away from metres in altitude, even on hot summer days, can ride up to the Soinsee or Seebensee lakes. The meadows around these two crystal-clear water pearls are deserted in summer. And after a fulfilling day of swimming in the alpine summit scenery, there is also an exhilarating descent.
We have selected the ten most beautiful swimming routes and mountain bike tours from the Bavarian Moser guides. And then: The best places to stop for refreshments nearby so that you don't end your wonderful day in a traffic jam on the way home.
