The main thing is the lake
More than 200 bathing lakes lie to the east of Berlin in Brandenburg - from small and idyllic to large and lively. And most of them can be easily reached by bike

1st pleasure tour around the Scharmützelsee

This is the perfect taster tour for the Oder-Spree lake district. A hundred years ago, celebrities from the worlds of art, culture and politics travelled to Lake Scharmützelsee to enjoy the attractive surroundings of Berlin. Back then, the poet Theodor Fontane also called Lake Scharmützelsee the "Märkisches Meer". In summer, you should definitely pack your swimming gear for this lake tour. Time and again you will come across small sandy beaches and quiet bathing spots or jetties from which you can dangle your feet in the water.

2. from Beeskow around the Schwielochsee

The day tour starts in the small town of Beeskow. Before heading out into the Spree meadows, you have to take a look at the historic town centre with the massive brick building of St Mary's Church. The route then leads to the castle with its large collection of art from the GDR. Don't forget your swimming gear on this tour, at least in summer. There are always beautiful spots on the lakeshore where you can jump into the water.

3. from Müllrose to the Schlaubetal Nature Park

The idyllic Schlaubetal valley is particularly popular with hikers. However, cyclists also feel at home in the nature park south of Müllrose and the small, clear Schervenzsee lake is a worthwhile stop for a picnic and a refreshing swim. Almost at the southernmost point of the tour, a marvellous view over the landscape at Försterblick awaits at Wirchensee.

4th multi-day round trip in the Oder-Spree lake district

This tour is a cross-section of the entire Oder-Spree region between Erkner in the west and Eisenhüttenstadt in the east. The 237-kilometre route is recommended for four one-day stages. This leaves plenty of time for swimming in the lakes and visiting museums, castles and churches.

5. the Geo-Round between Erkner and Fürstenwalde

The ice age around 18,000 years ago left its mark on the Oder-Spree lake district. The ice-age lakes and erratic blocks that were pushed here from Scandinavia still bear witness to this today. The Ice Age tour initially runs north-westwards in the Spree valley. In Erkner, the route then turns eastwards. Not only will Tesla electric cars soon be built in Grünheide, but idyllic spots such as the Werlsee lake also await.

6th Culinary tour around Lake Storkow and Lake Scharmützelsee

This is the route for fans of fish specialities. Pikeperch, eel, pike or carp are freshly prepared straight from the lake and served on your plate in the restaurant, at the snack bar or on the trolley. It is not without reason that the locals have christened the tour "Eagle meets pikeperch". Incidentally, the highest inland dune in Germany at 33 metres in Storkow offers the most beautiful view of the Great Storkow Lake.

7. on the Spree cycle path through the Oder-Spree lake district

The Spree Cycle Path actually measures 360 kilometres from its source to Berlin, where the Spree flows into the Havel. But you don't have to cycle the entire route. A beautiful section runs from Lübben in the Spreewald to Erkner on the outskirts of Berlin. The 142 kilometres are suitable for a nice two-day or extended weekend trip. The first 70 kilometres lead through the charming landscape of the Spreewald with its rivers (watercourses), past Lake Neuendorf to the historically interesting town of Beeskow.
