The main cycling artery is the Rhine Cycle Route. But this is just one of many signposted routes through the lovely countryside between the Black Forest and the Rhine around the Tuniberg and Kaiserstuhl. In addition to the Kaiserstuhl circuit, the Breisgau cycle route is also one of the classics - both extensive day tours through wine-growing villages and fruit-growing communities. Burgundy, Müller-Thurgau and Silvaner dominate the wine varieties, from simple country wines to internationally recognised top wines.
Character:
The many signposted cycle paths in the region mostly run along tarmac roads and country lanes with little or no car traffic. Only those who want to cycle up to the Tuniberg or into the Black Forest have to reckon with steep inclines.

Journey:
Freiburg is very well integrated into the Deutsche Bahn network and can also be easily reached by long-distance train. Cyclists can call the railway hotline on 01805/99 66 33 (14 ct/min. from landlines, max. 42 ct/min. from mobile phones).
