You can’t do without a bike. The Bianchi looks absolutely smart and has everything a good gravel bike needs. When it comes to the components, the Italians have opted for more affordable Shimano parts on this model, but the price is certainly impressive.

Garmin Edge 1040 Solar GPS cycle computer
You can’t get by without a sat-nav. If you’re constantly stopping to check your smartphone, you’ll hardly cover any distance. The Garmin Edge 1040 is said to have proven its worth. Best of all: thanks to solar power, it never runs out of juice – provided the sun is shining. As well as showing you the way, this device can, of course, do a whole host of other things. It tracks your fitness, provides you with facts and figures about your ride, and much more. All that technology comes at a price. Deuter Orbit +5°C/41°F sleeping bag
Of course, you’ll need to take a sleeping bag with you on your trip. And no, you don’t have to spend 400 euros or more. What matters are the temperature range and the pack size. The Orbit from Deuter manages both quite well. You can’t go far wrong with this synthetic-fibre sleeping bag in summer, though it’s designed more for mild nights. The temperature range: Comfort: +9 degrees | Limit: 5 degrees | Extreme: -9 degrees. Weight: 1,050 g + 48 g stuff sack. It’s not a premium model, but the sleeping bag costs 110 euros – and here it’s heavily discounted to 79.99 euros. Tubolito TPU CX/Gravel Inner Tube – 27.5/28
If the air’s gone, you’ll need a new inner tube. Even tubeless riders aren’t immune to this. Because if the sealant is leaking or the valve isn’t holding a seal, they too will have to fall back on the good old inner tube.
