On the Unstrut cycle path through the wine-growing region
Steep terraces, centuries-old dry stone walls, romantic vineyard cottages and picturesque river valleys characterise the Saale-Unstrut wine-growing region, which is shared by three federal states.

More than 40 wineries, the Freyburg winegrowers' association, the Kloster Pforta state winery and the Rotkäppchen sparkling wine cellar in Naumburg invite you to enjoy a convivial tasting session. As is so often the case, the best way to cycle here is along the rivers. However, the section along the Saale cycle path is one of the more challenging cycle routes in the Saale-Unstrut region. The Unstrut cycle path is much more leisurely.

Character:

The cycle paths along the Saale, Unstrut, Ilm and Weiße Elster rivers are well connected. The condition of the Unstrut cycle path in particular varies and ranges from tarmac sections to dirt tracks. However, the majority of the Unstrut cycle route is very easy to cycle.
