He left behind beautiful castles and an immortal myth - Bavaria's sun god King Ludwig II. A marked cycle path connects his buildings.
The tour can be completed in two days with tight stages of 85.7 km (Landsberg - Füssen ) and 75 km (Füssen - Garmisch-Partenkirchen with a detour to Oberammergau) or a little more relaxed and with more time for sightseeing in 2 1/2 or more days.
If you take a week, you can delve deeper into the history of art and tackle numerous first-class signposted routes from Füssen in the Ostallgäu. Our tip: If you start this classic weekend tour on Friday, reduce your kilometre target on the first afternoon to 35 km and only cycle as far as Schongau. This gives you more time for sightseeing on Saturday, e.g. the Wieskirche.
