From Bernkastel-Kues on the Moselle, you can easily reach Daun in the Volcanic Eifel (58 km) via Lieser and the Maare-Moselle cycle path. From Lieser, the cycle path runs along a former railway line with occasional gradients of a maximum of 2.5 per cent. In Daun, you turn onto the Eifel-Ardennes cycle path to Gerolstein (21.5 km, partly steeply uphill). From Gerolstein you cycle along the Kyll valley cycle path with only a few climbs back to the Moselle (from Gerolstein to Trier: 80 km).
Note: The Eifelquerbahn railway no longer runs!
