On historical traces: the Salier cycle path
Between Speyer and Worms, the Salian Cycle Route follows in the footsteps of history. Between 1024 and 1125, the Salian dukes ruled over the entire region around Worms, Speyer and Bad Dürkheim.

Worms Cathedral, the Limburg monastery ruins near Bad Dürkheim and the cathedral church in Speyer are among the famous architectural witnesses to this period. The Salier Cycle Route leads flat and family-friendly through this region of the Palatinate in a large figure of eight with the centre near Lambsheim, so that you can either cycle the entire route or a circular route in the north or south, each around 60 km long. Between the wine and imperial towns, the route leads through vineyards, meadow landscapes and extensive vegetable fields. If you would like to cycle a little further through the Palatinate, you can, for example, enter the Hiwwel route or in Bad Dürkheim in the German Wine Route cycle path turn in.

Marked with the yellow Salier crown symbol, the approximately 140 km long "Radachter" runs largely flat to slightly hilly (450 metres in altitude) on low-traffic roads or cycle paths and country lanes. The family-friendly route is recommended for children aged ten and over. From Lambsheim or Birkenheide, the tour can easily be divided into two one-day stages, each around 70 kilometres long.
