A sporty tour, not only in terms of the length of the route. The low mountain topography in the Odenwald also demands a solid basic level of fitness. The Three-Country Cycle Route runs for 200 kilometres through the three federal states of Hesse, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Along the cycle path are German half-timbered gems such as Michelstadt, Miltenberg and Mosbach. But other highlights also await the cultural traveller, such as the pilgrimage basilica in Walldürn, the Franciscan monastery of Engelberg and the baroque town of Amorbach. Tip for tired cyclists' legs: the Odenwald thermal baths in Bad König. And last but not least: the Main and Neckar rivers are of course home to fine wines, just in case you're still lacking that little bit of extra energy after a day's cycling.
