Märkische Schlössertour
The abundance and variety of manor houses and aristocratic residences concentrated in Fontane's hiking world in Berlin's commuter belt is astonishing. A cycle tour through Prussia's splendour and glory in the east of Berlin.

The start and finish of our Märkische Schlössertour are in Beeskow in Brandenburg. This is also the location of the former moated castle, which was first mentioned in 1272 and now forms the backdrop for an impressive start to the tour. The castle tour can easily be completed in three one-day stages. However, if you want to take a closer look at the many interesting buildings, such as the baroque Kossenblatt Castle, the Sauen Manor House and the Lietzen Commandery, a former knight's seat of the Knights Templar, you may need to allow a little more time. However, the large loop does not present any major sporting challenges, but is largely flat on cycle paths and quiet side roads and can be travelled in both directions without any problems. In addition to plenty of culture, beautiful natural landscapes such as the Schlaubetal, Scharmützelsee, Oderbruch and Märkische Schweiz Nature Park await touring cyclists.
