Lenneroute: Cycle tour through the Sauerland
The Lenne leads the way from Winterberg to Wetter, from the source of the Lenne to its confluence with the Ruhr.

Our low mountain tour across the Sauerland begins at the Kahler Asten near Winterberg. Deep green forests, romantic meadow valleys and small half-timbered villages form the backdrop at the start. Every now and then, a castle or palace sits enthroned on the mountain. Historic factories and museums, such as those in Maste-Barendorf and Holthausen, provide an insight into the region's industrial and mining history.

Towards the end of the route, the Lenneradweg increasingly leads through towns and the touring cyclist gets an impression of life in the Ruhr region. The last section of the route provides some relaxation. On quiet, well signposted paths, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you reach the mouth of the Lenne into the Ruhr. The majority of the Lenne route is tarmac. The few sections on unsurfaced forest, field and riverside paths are easy to master. However, on some sections between Plettenberg and Iserlohn you have to take the country road.
