From Graz, you set off through the South Styrian wine country and the volcanic region to Bad Radkersburg with its famous thermal baths. From there you continue on to Ljutomer, one of the most beautiful wine regions in Slovenia. The tour then continues to Ptuj, the oldest town in Slovenia, and along the Drava cycle path to Maribor, where you can see the oldest grapevine in the world, among other things. The return journey from Maribor to Graz is either by bike through the vineyards or, if necessary, by train.
The route of 234 km and 1400 metres in altitude is mostly on gravel or tarmac cycle paths and country roads, with some sections, especially in Slovenia, on busy roads. Beyond the river valleys, there are some challenging climbs, e.g. in the vineyards around Jeruzalem in Slovenia.
