Watered riverside paths all year round, ridges ploughed into the forest paths by tractor tyres, slippery root steps and puddles where the water stands even in midsummer - this is the biking world of "trail sleuth" Alex, who only knows asphalt roads from crossing them quickly. But to avoid any dirty thoughts: The Franconian Forest biking region consists of more than just a few puddles and mud baths. The region offers a well-maintained and well-signposted network of trails for mountain bikers. The mountain bike map of the Franconian Forest shows seven tours with a total length of 308 kilometres and over 8,000 metres in altitude. Not bad for a Bavarian low mountain range. And yet it is the secret spots of the locals that give a region the necessary flavour.
