The Alps are teeming with winding trails. Some are such super trails that you don't really want to tell anyone about them.
This is how the ideal freeride trail should be: as wide as a towel, jagged as a dragon's back, sometimes exposed - after all, you want to scare yourself a little - and packed full of gimmicks. It usually only exists in bikers' dreams. Or in the Bavarian Alps, like here at the Glaswandscharte.Photo: Franz Faltermaier This is how the ideal freeride trail should be: as wide as a towel, jagged as a dragon's back, sometimes exposed - after all, you want to scare yourself a little - and packed full of gimmicks. We say: Enough with the secrecy! Here are five awesome descents that will have you howling with excitement:

- Bringer of happiness: the Jochberg

- Flow show: the glass wall embrasure

- Rough guy: the Rotwand Trail

- The secret: Geierstein

- Full blast: Heimgarten
