Covering a total of 440 kilometres along the northern edge of the Alps, the Lake Constance-Königssee cycle path crosses the Allgäu and Upper Bavaria regions from Lindau to Schönau. If you want to cover the entire route, you need to be in good physical condition to cope with the almost 4,000 metres of altitude.

In addition to the travel special "The most beautiful cycle tours in Upper Bavaria", the exact map of the tour and the GPX track can be downloaded here.

Tour 18: Lake Constance-Königssee cycle path

The Lake Constance-Königssee cycle path connects the water cycle paths and is one of Germany's most popular long-distance cycle paths. At Bad Kohlgrub, Germany's highest moorland spa, the Lake Constance-Königssee cycle path shortens the Art & Culture Loop via Kochel am See. The Franz Marc Museum in Kochel and Benediktbeuern Monastery with its 1,250 years of history and a monastery garden well worth seeing are located along the way.

Between Tegernsee and Chiemsee, the cycle path connects the Art & Culture Loop with the Salt Loop. A stop at the lido in Schliersee is ideal for a refreshing dip. The destination is reached in Schönau: the emerald-green Königssee with its landmark, the pilgrimage church of St Bartholomä.
