Cycling tours for every taste in the Westerwald
Located between the major cities of Cologne and Frankfurt, the Westerwald stretches out in all its green splendour, surrounded by dense forests and criss-crossed by refreshing river valleys. Whether it's a day trip or a cycle tour lasting several days - the Westerwald has just the right cycle tour for every taste.

The contrast of airy heights and grassy green valleys gives the Westerwald its very special flair. Marvellous views offer pure nature. Hospitality and a traditional ambience can be found in the numerous small towns with their historic town centres and romantic old towns - ideal for a stop-off in between.

Clear and targeted signposting

The cycle paths are signposted according to the specifications of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate according to destination, distance and direction, thus guaranteeing safe orientation on the paths.
Themed routes are labelled with their own logo.

Cycling maps

The cycling and mountain bike maps Westerwald North and Westerwald South show the way through marvellous landscapes with breathtaking views. The two detailed topographical maps at a scale of 1:50,000 clearly show the routes of regional cycle and mountain bike routes as well as supra-regional themed cycle routes in the Westerwald.
The "Cycling in the Westerwald" brochure provides a summarised overview of all cycle tours. It lists and describes all routes and individual stages.
