Interested cyclists will find an extensive treasure trove of cycle tours on the Ostfriesland tour portal. Both themed routes and long-distance cycle routes are shown on an interactive map. Useful information on accommodation and GPX data are also available.

Water and space", "Gardens and castles", "Old and new harbours" and "Buccaneers and chieftains" - these are four themed tours on which the East Frisian peninsula can be cycled according to its main themes. Fishing villages, museum harbours, pirate nests and the eternal sea - the multi-day tours offer a varied cycling programme for young and old. Detailed route descriptions, maps, GPS data, information on accommodation and luggage transport are available at www.ostfriesland.de/mein-ostfriesland/radfahren

During the rhododendron blossom from April to June, the Ammerland park landscape is transformed into a sea of flowers. The 190-kilometre "Gardens and Castles" themed tour takes in imposing castle parks in Gödens and Jever and lovingly tended private gardens. A special highlight of the tour is the "Rhodo" in Westerstede from 17 to 26 May. Every four years, the town presents itself in all its floral splendour.
