The Oberammergau bike park closed seven years ago - now it is set to reopen. Two locals want to attract mountain bikers back to the Ammertal valley near Garmisch with a new concept.
New concept for Oberammergau bike park
Disagreements with the lift operators were the reason for the closure of the lift. Oberammergau bike parks in 2009. Seven years later, Markus Reiser and Lukas Gerum, both passionate mountain bikers themselves, want to restart operations. Six trails, two lifts covering 230 metres in altitude and a new concept should not only bring pure downhillers to the Ammertal near Garmisch. Markus Reiser talks about the plans and the imminent start of construction of the Oberammergau bike park in a video interview.
