The track in Bad Wildbad has cult status in the downhill scene. Because it could hardly be rougher or more bumpy.

One thing should be said straight away: park beginners and flow lovers won't get their money's worth here. There is a cog railway that starts in the centre of the village. There are three main routes (each 200 metres in altitude). Firstly: the 1er downhill. Downhill races are regularly held on this angry route. A route for real downhill experts. It is steep, full of stones, root carpets and nasty steps. You're lost here without a big bike. The 2-man downhill is slightly tamer and still very challenging. We recommend the freeride for beginners and freeriders. The highlights on this descent include table jumps, wooden ladders and a drop battery. The alternative is the GoPro Freeride, which is aimed more at experts with its stunts and doubles.

Conclusion Bad Wildbad is and remains a real downhill park. Downhill cracks love the furious descents. Park newcomers, beginners and stunt freeriders are better off in other parks.

Born in South Baden, Laurin Lehner is, by his own admission, a lousy racer. Maybe that's why he is fascinated by creative, playful biking. What counts for him is not how fast you get from A to B, but what happens in between. Lehner writes reports, interviews scene celebrities and tests products and bikes - preferably those with a lot of suspension travel.
