The Oderbruch railway, which helped shape the economic development of the villages and small towns in the Oderbruch region in the early to mid-20th century, is the basis for the route of one of the longest railway cycle paths in Germany.

The route leads through meadows and fields to cosy villages where many artists and craftspeople have settled today. Along the route, there are many sights worth seeing, such as the cathedral in Fürstenwalde, Steinhöfel Castle and the Friedersdorf art gallery with interesting exhibitions and concerts.

Scenic attractions include the Märkische Schweiz Nature Park around Buckow, the Schermützelsee and the Platkower Mühlenfließ with its idyllic small lakes and ponds. The partially flooded polders in the Oderbruch with their colourful birdlife are very attractive in spring.
