Corsica, perhaps Europe's last real adventure. Endless, rugged cliffs that are only crossed by a few narrow paths. People are rare outside the towns, but the whole range of landscapes awaits: snow-capped mountain peaks, white sandy beaches, primeval forest and barren rock formations. About half the size of Schleswig Holstein, the island juts out of the Mediterranean. The pixel flight with Google Maps inspires adventure-seekers even more: hardly any hiking trails, hardly any houses in the interior of Corsica - it looks like the Alps; only without the comfort programme, without huts, mobile phone reception or other comforts of life. Once you are in the middle of the Corsican mountains, you have to get out again on your own. It was not for nothing that the Foreign Legion trained its soldiers here for many years. Rickleff Gramberg discovered the island for himself 15 years ago. He first travelled through Corsica on a racing bike and an old Renault R4, then circumnavigated the coast in a kayak. He has also been offering bike tours for three years. Before that, the native of Husum spent two years searching for suitable routes - Corsica hides its trails.
