With the mountain bike to Mount Olympus
"Anyone who approaches him will be punished with madness or death," says Greek mythology. But Olympus seems to take a liking to bikers. On the road on Greece's highest peaks.
Our mission: to cross Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece at 2917 metres. We have hired Asterios for this mission. He also moved to the big city of Athens during the great rural exodus of young people. But he soon returned because he could no longer stand the smog and the density of people. Together with his German girlfriend Claudia, he now runs a flourishing paragliding company in the north-east of the country. That's why he knows every rocky outcrop in the Olympus massif. While Asterios sailed around the peaks with the thermals, he spotted plenty of mountain bike trails from the air, which he has since spun into an extensive network of tours.
