Water tour through Central Carinthia

It doesn't always have to be the famous lakes. Carinthia's current cycling insider tip lies in the centre around St. Veit an der Glan. Geographically, Central Carinthia stretches between the Saualm in the east and the Nockberge mountains in the north-west. Incidentally, there are also beautiful lakes here, just usually a little smaller and more idyllic. An attractive two-day tour is the water tour from St. Veit. The unspoilt and pristine Wimitztal valley and the upper Glantal valley invite you to enjoy a challenging cycling, water and nature experience. Very sporty contemporaries are sure to complete the marvellous mountain and valley tour in one day, while connoisseurs can take at least two days. For example, for an extended swimming stop at Lake Goggausee and Lake Ossiach or for a detour to Liebenfels for the water trail adventure or to the climbing garden below the ruins.

Character
More than 1000 metres of elevation gain over 100 kilometres is not rocket science, but various climbs require a good basic level of fitness. You cycle on cycle paths and quiet side roads.
