The 6 most beautiful holiday trails in Europe
These trail spots are too far away for a weekend trip. But to fully savour their flow offerings, you need more time anyway.

1st Carosello 3000

"Coast to Coast" and "Roller Coaster" are the names of the two new additions that opened this year at Carosello 3000 in the flow trail mecca of Livigno. Two more trails are in the works. In the excavator and on the shovel: Diddie Schneider and Hans Rey. But it's not just the trails on the 3000 metre high summit that are fun. All around Livigno, there is a huge network of polished high mountain trails.

Length 4-9.8 km/870 m elevation gain

2nd Sauze-d'Oulx bike park

People always say that the trails in the Western Alps are rough and rocky - Sauze d'Oulx proves the opposite. Along the French-Italian border, west of Turin, the mountains become softer and their trails softer. 13 beautiful flow trails await around Sauze d'Oulx. The most beautiful of these is trail no. 12, aptly named "Super Sauze". It winds in perfect curves from Rocce Nera down to Sauze d'Oulx.

Length 900 hm
Location Piedmont (Italy)
Cable car July until the beginning of September

3rd Gisburn Trail Centre

There are over 35 trail centres in England. One of the best known is the Gisburn Trail Centre in the Forest of Bowland. There are three trails in the difficulty levels moderate, difficult and very difficult. The latter means there are unrideable root carpets and drops.

Length 9.5-18 km
Location England (North West)
Open All year round
Cable car/shuttle No

4th Finale Ligure Freeride

Okay, absolute bike beginners won't have any fun on Finale's trails. Although the trails are maintained in an exemplary manner, they are otherwise left in their natural state. In other words, you have to expect roots, stones and steep gradients even on the easy lines. An absolute classic: the Base-NATO-Trail.

Length 25.3 km/1170 hm
Location Finale Ligure/Italy
Open All year round

5 Northern Ireland

In the north of the "green island" alone, there are seven trail centres of different sizes. It's best to combine them all with a big road trip. The most beautiful park: Rostrevor!

Length 1.3-27 km
Location Northern Ireland
Open All year round

6. 7 Stanes

Seven trail centres are also spread across the south of Scotland. The trails are divided into five levels of difficulty plus the "Forest Road" category. The signposted trails lead up and down for many kilometres through the hilly landscape of Scotland. Along the way, you will come across lochs, castles and like-minded people - nothing else. Back at the trail centre, on the other hand: Shower, café, bike wash and barbecue.

Length 400 km in total
Location South Scotland
Open All year round around the clock
Cable car/shuttle No
