Many roads lead to Rome. But are there also cycle paths through Rome? Our pair of authors set off on a discovery tour by folding bike and got to know the Eternal City from a different angle. Here are two tour tips

MYBIKE tour tips for Rome

City tour, 24 km

  • Start/End: St Peter's Square/Vatican City
  • On the Tiber river cycle path past Castel Sant'Angelo to Villa Borghese
  • Continue through the centre of Rome to the Trevi Fountain
  • Past the Pantheon and across Piazza Navona to the Colosseum
  • From the Colosseum back to the Tiber and on the cycle path along the river towards St Peter's Square

Graffiti tour, 19 km

  • Start/end: Quadraro district/Trastevere district
  • Tour starts in the graffiti hotspot Quadraro ("Open Air Muro Urban Art Museum")
  • From there to Rome's oldest trade route, the Via Appia
  • Via Appia in the direction of Ostiense to the second graffiti hotspot
  • Continue from Ostiense to Trastevere. The Trastevere street art district is an insider tip!
