On the wine cycle path along the Main
The flat, almost 30-kilometre route on asphalted farm tracks through the Main Valley is called the Wine Cycle Route for good reason. Numerous wine bars and taverns invite you to take a break.

It starts in Hallstadt, just outside Bamberg. There, where barley juice still takes centre stage in the pub. But this is also the threshold from beer Franconia to wine Franconia. The gentle ridges of the Steigerwald and Haßberge mountains mark the horizon. On the slopes are the easternmost vineyards in Franconia and in the valley idyllic villages with typical half-timbered houses.

Numerous wine bars and taverns invite you to take a break. Our tip: If you are still in good shape when you reach Zeil, you can cycle back to Hallstadt along the opposite bank of the Main on the Main cycle path.

The GPX track for retracing the Wine Cycle Route is available free of charge on the MYBIKE tour portal:

Arrival
If you are travelling to Bamberg without a car, it is best to take the train. You can also take the train back from Zeil.

Tour combinations
The Wine Cycle Route can be easily combined with the Brewery and Beer Cellar Tour, the Regnitz Cycle Route and the Main Cycle Route.
