What sounds like a trip around the world turns out to be a relaxed cycle tour around Lake Wörthersee and through the unspoilt 4-lake valley of Keutschach.
From the TV-famous "Schloss am Wörthersee" in Velden, you cycle along the cycle path along the northern shore towards Klagenfurt. Past magnificent and lovingly restored Wörthersee villas that exude the flair of bygone eras.
The cycle path leads via Pörtschach and Krumpendorf to the Bay of Klagenfurt. There you should marvel at sights from all over the world in miniature format in "Minimundus".
The restaurant garden of the "Zur Tramway" buffet directly on the cycle path by the Lendkanal is iconic. A little further out on the Lendspitz, the Maria Loretto restaurant serves traditional Carinthian Kasnudeln (cheese noodles) with a marvellous view of the lake.
Back in the saddle, the ride continues into the 4-lake Keutschach valley, nestled between rolling hills and lush meadows, past unspoilt waters and idyllic farms. Cycle through the Keutschach moor to Schiefling and then downhill back to Velden.

On 30 April 2017, it will once again be "Wörthersee car-free". On a trip to the lake with family and friends, you can enjoy a leisurely cycle - and this only happens once a year - and experience the entire Wörthersee without motorised traffic. The catering facilities around the lake invite you to linger. If you want to take it easy on your thighs, you can also shorten the almost 45-kilometre round trip by taking a Wörthersee boat.
