The first destination after the start in Nyborg is Odense, the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, Denmark's famous storyteller. After crossing the island, the cycle route always leads close to the sea along the south and east coast. Along the way are stately country estates, quaint half-timbered towns such as Faaborg and Assens and long sandy beaches. Don't forget your swimsuit! Lively harbour life awaits in Svendborg. From there, an optional excursion to the doll's house island of Ærø is well worthwhile. On the last stage back to Nyborg, there are still some manor houses and Valdemar Castle worth seeing. All in all, a relatively easy cycle tour without any major climbs.
