Beach trips and short mountain stages
Our tour tip through breathtaking scenery in the south of Fuerteventura: a cycle tour from Morro Jable to the Punta Jandia lighthouse, possibly with a detour to Cofete on the west coast. A beautiful but strenuous route.

"La forte Ventura", the strong adventure, was already written on the first Canary Islands map from 1339. Fuerteventura is adventure - the adventure of the landscape, even if at first glance the barrenness of the second largest Canary Island can be a little disconcerting.

The challenge of cycling beyond the seemingly endless beaches is not the few mountain routes - the highest elevation is only 807 metres. Wind and sand are the opponents here and there. Several tours lead over dusty, bumpy gravel roads with some steep climbs. A sturdy trekking bike with good gearing and studded tyres or an e-bike is therefore advisable. Fuerteventura is famous for its beaches, but the interior of the island is also worth a tour, especially up to the picturesque village of Betancuria.

The GPX track for retracing the tour to the lighthouse is available free of charge on the MYBIKE tour portal:
