Single trails are the ultimate for many mountain bikers. There is nothing better than being out and about on a narrow trail on your bike in the golden hours of the day, enjoying the view of the high alpine mountain world and really putting the pedal to the metal. The Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis family region is constantly working on expanding the trail network outside of the bike park. Three new trails will be added from the opening of the season on 8 June. On the Scheidtrail, Flüstertrail and Zirbentrail, beginners and families as well as advanced riders can enjoy the singletrail fun.Nothing beats a singletrail. Nothing compares to riding down a small path in the golden hours of the day and being surrounded by panoramic views and mountain peaks. The family region Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is continuously working on developing and expanding its trail network outside of the bike park. Mountain bikers can look forward to three new singletrails when the season kicks-off on June 8. The Scheidtrail, Flüstertrail and Zirbentrail are designed to put smiles of the faces on both beginners and experienced riders.
The Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis family region is keen to create opportunities for beginners of all ages to try out mountain biking. With the Scheidtrail, the region has succeeded in expanding the range of single trails for rookie bikers and families. At an altitude of 2,313 metres, it offers exactly what beginners are looking for: great views and riding fun without having to leave your comfort zone. Even the start at the summit of the Lazid offers a breathtaking view of the majestic rock formations and, on a clear day, it is possible to see as far as the Italian border region. A few hundred metres from the Lazidbahn mountain station, the Scheidtrail winds its way down the mountain for 2.3 kilometres and reaches its lowest point at 2,099 metres.
The playful route is rather flat and includes fun Northshore elements that are ideal for gaining your first experience on a bike. The features and specially shaped hills are easy to roll over. This means that mountain bike beginners can already enjoy the flow. At the end of the Scheidtrail, you can join the new Komperdell Lassida Tour. Once you arrive in Komperdell, you can treat yourself to a little refreshment at the surrounding mountain huts before taking the Lazidbahn cable car back to the starting point.
Mountain bikers who enjoy the challenges of natural trails will be particularly pleased with the Flüstertrail. The rather demanding single trail starts at Schönjoch at an altitude of 2,433 metres. The high alpine trail entrance offers riders an impressive mountain panorama right from the start. The fantastic trail leads MTB fans over a distance of 2.1 kilometres and 343 metres in altitude down to rustic wooden huts. But before you can relax in the sun on the hammocks of the Heustadel village, there are some steep and rocky trail sections waiting to get your pulse racing. You have to be careful not to let your eyes wander from the trail into the mountains, as the view of the surrounding valleys, such as the Inntal, is unique.
At 2,095 metres, you reach the hay barn village, the perfect place for a short break. Here you can enjoy the sun on the pasture or have a snack in the shade of the wooden huts before getting back on your bike to discover the other trails in the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis family region, such as the flowing Zirbentrail, which follows on from the end of the Flüstertrail.
The flowing Zirbentrail is a single trail at an altitude of 2,072 metres that takes mountain bikers in the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis family region from the Zirbenhütte on the north side of Fiss through a pine forest to the Schöngampalm. Marked as a blue trail, it is ideal for beginners, who will enjoy the rollable features and the relatively wide trail. Nevertheless, there are no limits to the creativity of advanced riders, as Northshore elements, double waves and mini-tables will also give experienced mountain bikers a good dose of riding pleasure. The coordinated gradients of the numerous berms and playful waves make it possible to choose a variety of lines.
The Zirbentrail offers a marvellous view during the ride. The view of the mountain range of the Northern Limestone Alps is one of the most impressive on the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis high plateau. As you roll past the mountains down to 1,890 metres, the numerous and varied features will delight you. Once you reach the bottom, the Schöngampalm provides thirsty and hungry mountain bikers with traditional Tyrolean cuisine in a rustic and cosy atmosphere. Afterwards, you can take the Almbahn cable car to the Zwölferkopf. From there, you can make your way back to the Schönjoch, where both the Frommestrail and the Flüstertrail have their starting points.
