Saalfelden Leogang is regarded as the epicentre of the European gravity scene and the bike park has gained another attraction this season with its own flow trail. Flow trails have become increasingly popular as a tourist attraction in recent years. This is because almost every biker loves the rollercoaster ride on two wheels, which gives a tingling sensation in the stomach and is addictive. The low gradient means that the brakes remain unused most of the time and the waves and berms make for playful, elegant movements. Pedalling is also almost superfluous. A feeling that makes you want more.
It all starts at the Asitz mountain station in the Leogang bike park. From here, the 3.5-kilometre flow trail with the full name "HOT SHOTS - fired by GoPro" winds its way down into the valley over an altitude difference of around 1720 metres. At the middle station, riders are spoilt for choice: beginners can take the "Hangman II" down into the valley, while experienced bikers can take on the "Speedster" World Cup trail. Or you can take the lift back up to ride the bike rollercoaster again.
The Hot Shots Trail was inspired by the many visits the Leogang team has made to parks in Europe and Canada. Head shaper Reini Leitner and his crew have also brought all their experience and creativity to bear to give bikers yet another reason to come to Leogang.
The Bikepark Leogang reopens its gates up to the middle station on 12 May 2016, depending on the snow conditions, the entire park including the Hot Shot Trail will be open again from 26 May 2016.
