Pump tracks are springing up like mushrooms in the forest. New pump tracks have also sprung up in Salzburger Land in recent years, delighting young and old alike. Riding a pump track can be quite exhausting, you'll be out of breath after just a few laps. Pump tracks are a lot of fun. They are also ideal for learning the basics of riding technique. Cornering, jumping or simple weight shifting - bikers can practise and learn all these basics on pump tracks without much effort.
There are many pump tracks in Salzburger Land. They enjoy great popularity and are well frequented almost all year round. Here is a small selection in the overview:
Which mountain biker or downhill rider doesn't know the trails of the Epic bike parks in Leogang. In addition, the Riders Playground at the valley station of the Asitzbahn is one of the largest beginner parks in Europe. For two years now, a professionally built pump track has adorned the area around the valley station. The total area of the World Champions pump track is 5000 square metres - enough space to have fun at the foot of the Leoganger Steinberge. There is also a jumpline around the pump track, where you can slowly try your hand at jumping.
In Saalbach Hinterglemm mountain bikers can choose from three pump tracks. Between the beginning of July and mid-September, a pump track is set up at the valley station of the Reiterkogel cable car, which can be used free of charge. A few storeys higher, next to the mountain station of the cable car of the same name, there are two pump track lines. The "Speedring" and the "Worldcup" are ideal for a fun warm-up before the first ride down into the valley. The neighbouring skill trail with its elements such as step-up wave, kicker, roots, etc. provides initial practical experience on the bike. This means that beginners are well equipped for the easy bike park trails such as the Blue Line and Monti Trail. The third pump track is located in Hinterglemm directly behind the football pitch. The circuit consists of several waves and berms or tables. The pump track is easily accessible via the Z-Line.
One of the most impressive pump tracks in Austria is located in the immediate vicinity of the city of Salzburg. The community Wals Siezenheim dug deep into its pockets in 2017 and created a perfectly tarmac pump track. It is located right next to the motorway lake and is easy to reach by car. There are also plenty of parking spaces right next to the pump track. With a total area of over 2000 square metres, it is one of the largest in Europe. The pump track consists of several different lines. The outside circuit is garnished with jumps, while the inside features many steep turns. This is where the scene likes to meet - children, teenagers and adults alike do lap after lap, regardless of whether they are beginners or professionals.
