"Flow" describes a "feeling of complete immersion and absorption in an activity", says the Wikipedia entry. Mountain bikers know the feeling and those who have experienced it once want to do it again and again. Trail building guru Diddie Schneider and mountain bike legend Hans "No Way" Rey recognised this and invented the flow country trail - a man-made trail with guaranteed flow and riding fun for everyone.
On Saturday 16 August, the longest flow country trail in Europe will open on the Petzen on Lake Klopein in southern Carinthia. Over a length of 10 kilometres, the mountain bike rollercoaster winds its way down into the valley, overcoming 1000 metres in altitude. Bend after bend until you get dizzy - in a positive sense. Lateral acceleration and adrenalin rushes are guaranteed!
Anyone who thinks that these trails only appeal to particularly daring mountain bikers is mistaken. First and foremost, the trails should be fun for everyone and ideally designed so that you don't have to brake or pedal and can simply enjoy surfing downhill. Age and riding ability should not play a role.
Three cross-country trails, each four kilometres long and 200 metres in altitude, as well as the pump and dirt area, will be opened at the same time. You will soon find out how the first test ride on the Flow Country Trail in Carinthia went. You can find more information on the Website of the Klopeiner See tourist region or on the Petzen website.
