Island camp Fehmarn, Schleswig-Holstein

Fehmarn is one of the sunniest regions in Germany with around 2000 hours of sunshine per year. The 5-star campsite right on the fine sandy Baltic Sea beach offers the perfect opportunity to relax. There are numerous cycle paths on the island, which stretch across the entire island and invite you to go on extended tours. Explore the island on over 300 kilometres of well-signposted cycle paths and 7 themed cycle paths that run along the coast or on the dyke. Or take a cycle tour along the 78-kilometre coastline, where natural beaches, inland lakes and cliffs alternate. In the island's interior, you can cycle through wide fields and meadows, enjoy idyllic village views and experience the island's flat landscape. There are 15 bike hire centres on Fehmarn. Seecamping Mentl, Carinthia, Austria

Lake Ossiach, situated between the majestic peaks of the Gerlitzen and the gentle hills of the Ossiacher Tauern, is a picturesque body of water in the heart of the Austrian province of Carinthia. Seecamping Mentl, run by the hospitable Lauritsch family, extends a warm welcome to its guests. As an alternative to the saddle, stand-up paddleboards, pedal boats and cosy air mattresses are available on the lake to experience the beauty of Lake Ossiach to the full.

Campsite Rantum, Sylt, Schleswig-Holstein

The Rantum campsite on Sylt is an idyllic place to camp right on the sandy beach. As one of the largest campsites on the island, it offers over 200 pitches. The local North Sea offers ideal conditions for water sports such as surfing, kitesurfing and catamaran sailing.
