Jason Roe has his fingers in the pie here, a trail builder who has already gained experience in trail building at the flagship park Whistler. Our last visit to Wagrain was a while ago (we awarded it 7 out of 10 points in 2011). Back then, a fast gondola shovelled its visitors up to the middle station. From there, visitors have 300 metres of descent ahead of them. There is a main route from which many smaller side routes branch off. The main Symphony run is a crushed sand run (weatherproof) that winds its way through the forest into the valley. It is equipped with well-built table jumps, wooden berms and step-ups. A big bike is not absolutely necessary here. The side trails are rooty and often feature rather rickety stunts. "That has changed," says trail builder Jason Roe. Many trails have been maintained and modified. From this year, the gondola will even shuttle bikers up to the mountain station. The descent is then on a new trail, which is partly machine-built and partly singletrack to the middle station.
