The people of Serfaus have chosen the best weather for the opening of their bike park next Saturday. And while the lowlands are supposed to be sweltering at over 30 degrees, there should be a balmy breeze of around 20 degrees up on the trails at an altitude of over 2000 metres. Probably with a magnificent view of the still sugared peaks of the nearby Ötztal Alps. Perfect for a Serfaus excursion to mark the opening of the park.
The bike park is located above Landeck on a mountain plateau that is shielded by the surrounding high alpine peaks. This gives the region significantly more sunny days per year. The Waldbahn cable car shuttles bikers up to an altitude of 1850 metres to the start of a total of 9 lines (3 blue runs, 4 red and 2 black). These descents are connected to an official single trail network, which extends the area by a further 8 descents of varying degrees of difficulty. Since the park opened in 2013, the flagship has been the almost 9-kilometre-long Frommestrail on the Schönjoch (2436 m), which starts high up in the Alps with a view of the Ötztal Alps and only ends in the valley after 1000 metres of partly built and partly natural descents.
The park is considered particularly family-friendly because it has a permanent bike school where regular courses, holiday programmes and fun events for kids are offered.
The day ticket (All Mountain Bike Ticket) for mountain bikers costs 57.50 euros this year. Young people pay 45 euros per day. This not only gives you access to the bike park at the Waldbahn, but also to almost all other lifts in the region. However, there is also a 4-hour or half-day ticket (from 11.30 a.m.) for 49.50 euros/ 39.50 euros (young people). If you have a Gravity Card, simply walk past the ticket office.
No. There is a strict night-time parking ban from 4:00 - 7:00 am in the car park at the Waldbahn. During the day, a parking fee of 6 euros has been due since 2024, which can be paid digitally via QR code.
If you are travelling in a camper and would like to stay overnight, you will find beautiful campsites in the Inn Valley that are not too far away. e.g. Aktiv Campin in Prutz, aktiv-camping.at

Yes, even if not directly on the trails, but down in the valley: Due to the construction work on a new car park for the 2025/26 winter season, there will be a new parking situation in the valley this summer. Unfortunately, this also has an impact on the park areas:
